Hey there, We’re Christine & Ivy
A mother/daughter duo sharing cozy recipes, sourdough adventures, homemade breads, sweet treats, DIY projects, and the everyday joy of creating a home we love.
I’m Christine (The Mommy), a professional photographer, homemaker, homeschool mom, and enthusiastic baker who believes butter fixes most things. Ivy is our resident creative, bringing her love of sewing, filmmaking, baking, photography, writing, and all kinds of DIY inspiration to the mix.
Whether you’re here for a foolproof recipe, a cozy baking project, or just a reminder that homemade doesn’t have to be perfect, we’re so glad you found us. Grab something warm to drink, make yourself at home, and let’s bake something wonderful together.
The Mommy & The Ivy was born from a shared love of creating—whether that’s baking homemade bread, making something beautiful, or simply helping people feel welcome around the table. We hope you’ll find recipes, projects, and a little encouragement to create a home that feels uniquely yours.
how it started.
Some of my earliest memories are in my grandmother’s kitchen, standing on a chair at her elbow while she cooked and baked. She taught me that recipes are more than a list of ingredients—they’re stories, traditions, and one of the simplest ways to tell someone, “I love you.” Long before I knew what I wanted to be, I knew I wanted to feed people.
As I became a wife and then a mom, that love only grew. Our kitchen became the place where birthdays were celebrated, hard days were softened with warm cookies, and ordinary Tuesdays somehow felt special because there was homemade bread on the table. Somewhere along the way, I realized that feeding my family wasn’t just something I did—it had become my love language.
Around here, we believe homemade is always worth it—even when it’s a little messy.
When Ivy was little, we began navigating life with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), and our relationship with food looked a little different than we expected. It taught me that nourishing someone isn’t just about what’s on the plate—it’s about helping them feel safe, seen, and loved. I learned to celebrate small victories, create recipes that brought comfort instead of pressure, and remember that every family’s table looks a little different. Around here, there is no judgment—only encouragement, good food, and the belief that every meal shared with the people you love matters.

Meet Ivy
If creativity were a sport, Ivy would have been competing before she could walk.
From the moment she could toddle around the house, she wanted to make things. Give her paper, fabric, yarn, a camera, or a box of random craft supplies, and she’d happily disappear into a project for hours. These days, she still has more hobbies than most people know what to do with—from sewing and filmmaking to baking, photography, writing, and reading (sooooo much reading!) —but her favorite part has never changed: creating something with her own two hands.
She brings fresh ideas, creativity, and a wonderful eye for detail to everything we share here. Whether she’s styling photos, testing recipes, dreaming up DIY projects, or finding a new hobby to fall in love with, she reminds me every day that making something doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

And Christine
Otherwise known as The Mommy. I’m a professional photographer, homemaker, homeschool mom, memory keeper, and enthusiastic collector of flour on my countertops. I love baking bread, creating cozy recipes, preserving family traditions, and making a house feel like home. If it’s warm from the oven, covered in butter, handmade with love, or has a good story behind it, I’m probably all in. My hope is to help you create simple recipes, cozy moments, and a home that’s full of laughter—even if dinner occasionally comes with a side of smoke alarm.
“Cooking is at once child’s play and adult joy. And cooking done with care is an act of love.”
